Re: 2.7 Carrera
I did some work with Ryan on the book although he only lists the total production numbers not LHD and RHD totals.
1977 Carrera 3.0
1974 Carrera 2.7 in bits.
1974 Carrera 2.7 in bits.

Re: 2.7 Carrera
Guy, thanks for this. I have the book and have only been over it looking at individual sections rather than delving fully into it. Great book and lovely cars. Ferrymans car is stunning and I the impact bumper cars have grown on me. Loved my 930 and the Targa I have. The Carrera MFI looks so good.Guy wrote:I did some work with Ryan on the book although he only lists the total production numbers not LHD and RHD totals.

Guy, knowing now you have an in-depth knowledge of the model. One thing I have always been curious about was the wheel colour, I have seen various and wondered if these were simply styling options much like today or model year differences.
The black wheels are featured on quite a few cars.

and then obviously the std silver petals

Re: 2.7 Carrera
Tom,
The standard Fuchs on the Carrera 2.7 MFI were 6&7x15 with petals. This size could also be ordered with black or Gazelle (gold) centres. The 7&8x15s were available as an option with either black or Gazelle centres. The 7&8x15 was not normally available with petals although there are some factory photos from the period with them fitted and it appears to be the preferred option when cars are restored.

Re: 2.7 Carrera
Guy thanks for clearing this up. I have seen a few with the black wheels but think I prefer the original look. Especially when like the car has chrome around the windows etc.
