Buy a 987 Boxster, they are not perfect, but when working are great.

You need one car surely that dependably works every time, is fundamentally 'boring' and requires near zero effort?
Try a Skoda Superb, very apt description. You won't realise you have arrived.

The Boxster is as said, but stupidly flawed by poor design.
The 911 is wonderful and might continue to appreciate, doubt it.

Good luck finding the perfect match. Fun trying mind! :)

I know they tried woodburner conversions on Beetles and Kubelwagens in the war, but never realised they experimented with a Cayenne.
