What UK events are worth visiting and why?

Post by Black Betty »

Every year I frequently travel to the UK and I visit (classic car) events.

This year I'll be visiting Goodwood Members Meeting, Festival of Speed and Revival. Possibly I'll also be visiting Donington Park Historic Festival.

Are there other events that are worth visiting?
If yes, what are they and why are they worth visiting?

Silverstone Classic is far better than Donington Park historic imho and Santa Pod for the Euro Nationals and Dragstalgia if you fancy a bit of drag racing! (that is very weather dependent though)

Silverstone Classic on Saturday and Donington Classic. Both offer excellent classic racing and you can get up very close to the cars in the pit garages.

VSCC Prescott, first weekend of August is a wonderful 'festival'. Silverstone classic is great but huge, IMHO Donnington Historic is pretty soulless.....

Interesting to hear so many others feel the same as me about Donington ... I too think it’s soulless

Saying that, I’m also not a fan of silverstone classic either for similar reasons. Both of them lack something when you compare them to the classic events at Spa or LeMans

I always enjoy tramping round the endless stalls at Beaulieu Autojumble - Sept 7h and 8th this year. Prelude to Goodwood. Many European and American visitors I meet there are staying over for both events.

Scramble at Bicester Heritage. Tons of varied cars, many Porsches, the venue itself and the companies there. Never been disappointed, even in the pouring rain!
