I thought Redex was Naptha based which is why it helped with Carbon deposits.

Over here (USA) this question is usually asked about "Marvel Mystery Oil", which has been around forever and marketed for adding to fuel and motor oil to clean, lubricate, soothe, heal....
I'd read a similar (same?) thread about adding 2-stroke, but I think the stated benefit was to keep CIS/K-Jet components happy. I asked a CIS rebuilder what he thought about this, and he basically said "rubbish". Best, John
