I think it varies Clive and can sometimes be many months however Biagio mentioned that he'd been working flat out in recent months to clear a backlog and is now well on top of things......he promised he'd have the wheels I dropped of last week ready for my first rally in September

I'm picking up these beauties this week ......







These will be paired with Avons CR6ZZ's and will be going straight on the orange car, as nice as the original finish is I think the racing finish just suits the Mongrel better

So what started off as a money saving exercise to buy fake Fuchs for track days and use old worn Avons rather than destroying good road tyres has ended up with acquiring two full sets of original 6 & 7R's, freshly refurbished with new rubber whilst retaining my original HarveyW widened 7R's with a pair of Group4 deep 6's for track days!

The original plan was always to sell one set of originals but then I'm thinking if the market continues to fall I may eventually be able to afford a SWB project and I've read somewhere that 6 & 7R's with 175/70 fronts and 185/70 rears look mighty fine and go pretty well on one of those early twitchy cars!

Time will tell.

Avons now fitted to my racing finish wheels, again gorgeous work from Biagio ....



....although this time I asked him to leave the backs in their original never restored glory...the back on the wheel furthest right is Harvey's faithful reconstruction....



....pretty cool being able to see the original ink stamps .....





....these will now be first choice on the Mongrel which I think looks better with racing finish wheels.

.....I decided to go with a regular finish on this set with Biagio now refurbing the second set in a racing (RSR) finish as per my originals......and not only the finish that's new as I decided to give these a try ....

....incidentally, having now found myself in a position where fun funds will be sorely needed these freshly restored original Deep 6 and 7R Fuchs are to be offered for sale.....if interested look out for a "For Sale' ad very soon.
