"I am looking to find a new owner for the car who will cherish it and drive it not stash it away never to be seen so I would really like it to go to a DDK'er if possible."

I hope this car is great and finds a good home but but really! You spent your time and risked your money just so that a neglected car can be brought back to live? How about putting instead

"I will be honest and fair but I'm of course I'm looking to make money on the flip to reward my risk/time"

Neil. I've noticed you picking up on a few classified ads of late.

I keep an eye on all of them but don't want DDk to become a place where people are scared of posting a car for sale due to fear of threads like this.

Also to add.

Paul is being very upfront about his new venture / get together etc. and took the time to visit me to talk over his ideas.

He will be part of the trade / advertisers package once he's up and running so again, please let's make not make DDK a place where people are put off placing adverts]

I've sent you a message offline.

Hi Neil

Shame that we haven't had the chance to meet, it may have given you the opportunity to judge me differently.

Up until now I have just been buying the odd car for friends and family but soon I will be up and running as a business. Through my extensive contacts in the USA I am in a position to source dry state Porsche cars and rare parts at a lower price point than these cars are available currently in the UK. I do the due diligence to avoid scams, I pay the shipping, taxes and associated costs and indeed take the risk. The cars are then offered to interested parties but in a restricted manner, not e bay, not punted around and not auctioned.

Obviously anyone should see the car before buying it, and for the effort and risk that I put in I will be charging a % of profit, I however will always be transparent about that after all I don't currently possess a charitable status.

Yes the price is on the strong side for a 1962B, however I haven't come across many with less than 10,000 miles on the clock, have you?

I was looking for a 356 for my self, I committed to buy this one and at the same time a 57A became available so I bought them both, I bought it because it is a rare and beautiful car that needs a deserving owner in my opinion, yes I will make some profit from it's sale but for me that is not the overriding factor, but I know some will hard to understand my mindset.

I put it up on the classified section of this great forum, hopefully it will go to someone on DDK as a result which would suit me well, I am guessing that you are not interested in it?

Regards
Paul

This is 'Market Place Discussion'. I think it looks and sounds like a very interesting car and would love to read more about it and see more pictures. Neil has his opinions and perhaps this section gives one the opportunity to express them. Looks like a great car advertised at a price that whilst a lot of money is not off the scale, as i'm sure it would be if it were any kind of longhood 911.......
99% of us who view these ads are window shopping. I'd like to see more, but I'm not going to buy it. I rekon expensive-good is sooooo much better than cheap-rubbish. Good luck with the sale. W

Agreed. Really don’t need this to become a Pistonheads / TZ type forum although if there is a factual basis to consider the advert misleading, then that would be helpful.

I'm with Winston. The only problem with the ad is that we window shoppers want pics. Lots and lots of lovely pics. Thanks muchly.

Firstly I was acting from a place of ignorance since I didn't know Paul had come out to CLM and met everybody.

(Perhaps if I could of talked Mrs B into getting breakfast earlier at Mont Saint Micheal and made it to the DDK get together I wouldn't of been in that position)

However, I do hope that members can continue express their opinions in Market Place Discussion and be reviewed by peers. Which I think is what had happen here. Plus I wish almost everybody would put more pictures and details in their adverts but ...

Paul, and I, have exchanged pms so hopefully we will see the car on a Flat 4 Drive.
