I not happy with the fit of my main oil feed pipe. It appears to be the LWB type which is about 65mm too long. This results in a bend which tends to kink. This is all Porsche supply.
What do other folk think? Is this acceptable?
Is there a supplier here in the UK who makes the correct length pipe for a SWB car?
I tried to get one made up locally but apparently the fittings are not standard.
Interested to hear what people have to say.
Thanks in anticipation
Ian

Re: SWB 911 Main Oil Feed Pipe
I am not familiar with SWB models but if you are talking about the "rubber" hose with end fittings then the end fittings are made by Cohline. The fittings are avaliable in 90 degree and straight versions. These are not as per original but it is what Porsche now use as they are crimped on to the hose rather than "screwed on". The flexible hose is also available from Cohline. The fittings are probably 28mm x 1.5mm thread size. Carlton Hydraulic supply parts and will make up hoses to your specific sizes.

The alternative is to source some used original end fittings and purchase the flexible hose and do it yourself as no special tools are required.
Someone with more knowledge of SWB will hopefully come along shortly.

Great, thanks for the information.
I've tolerated the same issue on my swb car for a while. I'll get a new pipe made now

Chris 68 - PM sent.
How many other folk are interested in a correct length pipe? What about the possibility of a small batch price?

HI Ian
all the oil pipes from 65 ,2.0LT up to the 71, 2.2Lt engine are the same with screw on ends, should be all the same length with a dip down to the cooler.
could you give me a ring
regards mike

OK Mike, that's interesting to know - is there a reason for the 'loop' - it looks so incorrect and ugly!
Will give you a buzz on Thursday when I'm back at base.
