Ouch, that sounds like something I would do.

Actually I had a mate who bought a damaged Maserati cheap, and couldn't get a replacement windscreen anywhere. He got one custom and it cost $5k. When he was doing the final dash install, he put in a screw a bit too far and cracked the new windscreen

This week I do the engine cooling mod to the cylinder air guides, and I put the finishing touch on the front end of the car, by restoring and installing the bonnet badge.

So I have had to sit the Porsche to the side as I am still waiting on engine parts, but that means it is time for me to start the build on my 1971 Datsun 240Z.

This weeks video is about 50/50 Porsche and Datsun. I first needed to replace the front wheel bearings on the 911 so I could put wheels on it and move it out of the way. I then got into doing a stocktake on my Z to see what it needed, and start formulating a plan for the build.

I realise these will not be Porsche videos for a while, but you can follow the Datsun build on YouTube if you are interested. I can also possibly start another thread on here with the Datsun build if people are interested.

Here is the episode.

I thought it was time to compile a video on how far I have come. The engine is still waiting on some very nice custom parts to be finished, but here is where we are up to.

Still waiting on custom parts unfortunately. Hopefully something soon, seeing as that video has gone nuts and as of now, 4 days later, it has over 8 million views over all platforms. Craziness.

Indeed, a good summary, I had forgotten all the early stuff you did.
For me the body and paint are the real high-lights, outstanding end result.

imho 10/10 for DIY skills and determination and 11/10 for Mrs Jeff helping with the screen.... :)

So many of you have been asking me 'What is happening with the engine for the 911'?
So here is a bit of an update.

That four minute recap is pretty trippy!
The rocker-shaft seal new innovation mentioned in today's update is very interesting.
Thanks for all the effort you put into sharing this with us. John in CT/USA.

Day 4 of my 2.8RSR engine build was not my best day. I have plenty of dramas with my rings and bearings. Everything can be fixed though.
