Engine / bellhousing bolts

Does anyone know what bolts or studs or whatever hold a 914 engine to the bell housing? 2.0 if that makes a difference..
I’m assuming they’re fairly standard fasteners but I don’t have a case to check at the moment.. just trying to get things lined up for when all my bits come back so I can think about reassembly. Just trying to mount the case halves to my engine stand for the time being so don’t have to be 100% correct

Before anyone points me to google - I’ve spent the last 30mins searching. Not sure if I use the wrong terms or what but I can never find anything of use on type 4 engines (everything seems to be type 1)

42 & 43 for the upper bolts (pic 1 & 2)

56 for lower studs (pic 3 & 4)

Hang on, is this being attached to a 914/911 box or a VW box? Those stud length are too long for a type1 VW box (in which case you use T1 studs I think).

I would just use M10 studding and make them up, and Loctite them into the case.

I think the only one that really needs a specific bolt is the starter motor one, which if I remember correctly has a flat side to lock it against the motor body, and then the nut goes on the engine side. Again, with the starter you can make up your own stud for the other side of the starter motor

Sorry - I did a reply last night but it does t seem to have posted
I just wanted to know the thread sizes really at this stage I’m just looking to mount the case to my engine stand.. the case is off being cleaned so don’t have it to check

Where do those screen shots come from? I can find info like that for BMW’s but not porsche or vw

No need to go to an independent website like realoem, it available on the classic section of the Porsche website. A surprising amount of parts are still available and the prices are sometimes reasonable too. The part numbers that start with a ‘N’ are fairly generic and can often be sourced from a TPS outlet (Volkswagen/ Audi group parts distribution centres that supply the dealers but also the public directly).
