Door glass mounting bar position

Post by Gary71 »

I’m trying to get my front windows to work properly and think I may have found one of the issues:

Pretty sure this should be parallel to the glass and not about to come off...

So I can take it off and bond it back on but exactly where should it locate? As in a dimension from the edge of the glass to the runner?

Any ideas? Thanks Gary

Don't worry, I've answered my own question!

By reading the manual no less. Who'd have thought? :)

Didn’t fix it though...

I think this is more the effect of the window not running smoothly than the problem.

After much fettling and fiddling I’ve just ordered a new set of window felts. Despite the old ones not looking too worn it maybe the issue.

I have the same stiff running action but I'm too lazy to fit new felts though I have them.
A good silicon spray into the vertical felts sorts it out for a few months.

I’ve sprayed it with everything known to man. Think it’s past that point now! :)
