I’ve just attended a workshop on how to apply ceramic coatings. I was sceptical that a nano coating would have any impact at all. Applied to my 911 and VW bus. Very good results. Pain sharper and deeper colour.
£60 for a little pot of Dr Beasleys sounds expensive, but I used only just half for two vehicles.
I’m sure Ceramic Pro is even better than home DIY, but a £1k/car cost I’m not sure it’s worth it.
The finish is meant to look even better after 2 days curing.
Ceramic paint coating. Hype or decent?

it is decent as you mention, but its all in the prep and correct application and its very labor intensive hence the price. if you want ceramic pro doing, book a holiday in croatia, take your car with you and have it done by the approved company there - works out about £600 to have inside and out done including paint correction, leather repair, wheel refurbishment, etc. first

Re: Ceramic paint coating. Hype or decent?
I bought a new car recently and had it done. Properly prepared and coated etc. The results have been good so far and the car looks great and is very quick / easy to keep clean. The real appeal for me was that it is supposed to last a lot longer than wax so only time will tell.
Thought it was worth a try and so far so good.

Yep. All in the prep. I can see why the cost for a pro shop. If you have to machine polish and get the car tip top I can see why the high cost.
If you are like me, and have cars that are used not that often, garage kept, and in very good condition in terms of paint pre, then the little bottle of Beasleys is really good value. You have a 20 min time window before gently smoothing/wiping off. So it’s quite forgiving - unlike Ceramic Pro which is a thicker layer and needs a lot more expertise to apply.
So far so good with the results.
