Hi all,
I've gone and made my 3.2 into a 3.4 and with large gobs of 'while you are in there' I've twin-plugged it and bought a 964 twin distributor. The single signal from the 3.2 ECU therefore needs splitting and sending to two coils, and then the HT from both to the two halves of the 964 distributor. Some say you can just add the second coil in series. Some say you need a signal splitter and some say you must split the signal AND use twin 964 coils, each with it's "ignitor unit" the little black box piggy-backing off each coil. I have also heard that you can buy for the motorcycle market twin output coils with both outputs firing simultaneously which would be ideal, but are they suitable for a car motor?
Has anybody any experience of doing this? What did you do and did it work?
Thanks in advance, Chris.
P.S. I know you can buy a 12 output distributor but they are mega-bucks!!
Trying to fire two coils from one 3.2 ECU signal....
