Re: Off topic watch chat for the horologists out there
which isn't bad price if it is a full in house movement ( which is I think what they are trying to say ) as opposed to a modified 'off the shelf' one.
Personally, the asthetics do nothing for me, but then I'm not a big chrono fan as I like to see a full size sec hand sweeping around a dial

Not a cheap watch but the spec is very exceptional . I'm not really up to date on new watch prices
but many big name watches in the Swatch group use generic badge engineered ETA movements.
This Gallet is specked way superior to those movements and is a complex chronograph with superior to standard chronometer accuracy.
It's a Jim Clark tribute watch so mirrors the dial face of the Gallet Multichron 12 that he wore whilst winning the Indy 500 in 1965.
Still the only driver in F1 history to be F1 World Champion and Indy 500 winner in the same year.
I'm not sure, but I think most upmarket new watches offer a 3,4 or maybe 5 years guarantee.
This Gallet's warrantee is 10 years. Think just over £6k is pretty reasonable ?

I on the other hand think it looks pretty cool for a chrono and it does sound fabulous.
I'd also greatly enjoy the fact that very people would know what it was
.....
......if only I had a spare £6K sat doing nothing!

April 7th today - 50 years to the day that the flying Scotsman ' gentleman ' Jim Clark was killed at Hockenheim.

So today I'm wearing an all time favourite - Gallet Multichron 12 with Excelsior Park 40-68 motor

The main issue I have with a watch like this is who will buy it? Yes the movement is advance but there are more features in a £5 digital watch. If, like many of us, you like Chronographs than buy something from the past which has a place in history? I suspect most new watch buyers don't really care about the movement. They are buying a symbol and nice dial?

Gents - i have an early Bell & Ross PVD (made by Sinn), which uses the Lemania 5100 movement.
Can anyone recommend someone to service/repair in the UK please? Apologies, i'm not a frequent visitor so may have missed previous recommendations.
Thanks

I suspect that is Terry Andrews. He doesn't do any servicing himself just advertises for it then farms the watches out to the likes of Steve Burrage and sticks £100+ on the price for himself...
