Rear engine seal

Post by Ben Nichols 1979 »

Hi chaps, me again!

So I am looking at refitting the engine shorty. I noticed the rubber seal that is attached to the underside of the boot floor that seals between the floor and the engine tin is knackered. Its quite a wide one.

Does anyone know if I can get one in the UK? I could also do with all the seals that seal around the engine tin and the bodywork.

Hope that makes sense!!

Cheers.

There's no one in the UK that has made a decent effort in producing a good website selling 914 parts. That's not to say the parts aren't available here, they are. The problem is you have find the part number and call to see if it's still available, in stock and what the price is. Personally I find that inconvenient in todays world of online shopping. Therefore I tend to use http://www.914er-shop.de/ in Germany and https://www.rosepassion.com in France. Shipping is usually reasonable especially if you wait and buy several parts at once.

Porsche still produce many parts for the 914 but again you need to pick up the phone to see if it's available.

Further afield in the US 914rubber produce some fantastic reproduction parts, and it has to be said, some not so great. A bit of research will give you the answers on what parts aren't great, but to be honest they've upped their game in recent years and the vast majority of their products are very good. Again bulk buying parts from them can be worthwhile. Occasionally they have decent sales too. In last years Black Friday sale I spent a small fortune and saved almost half.

The seal you're after is available from Rose Passion by the way. You may find it closer.... if you call around.
