ARB set ups

My car came with a front anti roll bar fitted and was bolted through the first fitting. I've put it back there for now.

My car was fitted with 370mm springs on the back but they are now 470mm (from hazy memory) so I'm thinking the po had it set up to the lower rear end.

How does the different settings on the front ARB brackets affect the handling?

Is it closest hole in the bracket to the ARB is the toughest resistance and then farthest hole being the least resistance?

How have you set yours up for a street car?

I should imagine you are right. The closer to the bar the firmer it should be. It's all a case of leverage.
I have found with anything new, set it loose and work from there.
As you mentioned in my thread, the fitment was not the best for your roll bar. I would create yourself a datum. Something like lift it up and loosen it off. Then start from there. Don't get pulled into adjusting too many things at once as it will be tricky to identify what each adjustment is doing for you. Not a quick fix, but you can understand the progression and what it feels like per adjustment.
When creating my coil over set up (Heights, spring rates, damping and roll bar dia) I researched hardest and softest available and though the application for my car and worked from there. It is a lot softer than you would imagine...

You're correct - closest to the bar = stiffest, furthest away = softest

If you have adjustable drop-links then fit one end of the ARB (can be with a fixed length drop link - they don't both have to be adjustable), then adjust the other so there's zero pre-load on the bar when the car is stationary and loaded (ie typical load of people, luggage, etc). This makes sure it acts as a symetrical "anti-roll bar" and not an additional pre-load on the suspension
