Re: Nearly there
Ta for the lead J, actually my buddy in the US clued me up on this one, however I have now obtained an official Porsche Cars GB letter that states the Day of the month when my car was made. This has gone to the DVLA together with my third registration application. If this one is thrown out I shall be starting an official complaints procedure against the DVLA through the proper channels. That should be fun!

Re: Nearly there
Got it. Bloody got it. Lunchtime today, in from the garage, been working on my Buell, gave the cats a snack, checked if any mail had been delivered but really was not expecting anything at all after the holiday, and there it was. The brown envelope with the SA31 - Swansea return mail post code. Ripped the bugger open and 'voila' a V5C with Porsche writ inside. They hadn't put anything alongside the 'type' entry which should have been 356 but the chassis number is right and my new reggie is 586UYY which is non-transferrable although I do believe I can allocate a personal registration number onto the car.
So today I'm a very happy teddy, and looking forward to getting the car out and attending some of the good classic car meets that happen in our area. Roll on Summer.

Re: Nearly there
Gentlemen, thank you so much for all your greetings. It is so nice to know that there are so many folks on the same wavelength as you. I really think we should have a 'cars and coffee' meet up sometime this year. I'm near to Horsham in West Sussex so the somewhere in the home counties might be a good start. Thanks again guys!

Re: Nearly there
Yay! You got there in the end. Persistance pays off, and the DVLA finally delivered. Sounds like it took about the same time as mine, but I only applied once, and you had to resubmit 3 times?
