Hope Blockley’s for 356’s are better than our Pre War cars!

What’s wrong with Avon’s?

My first choice would be Avon CR6ZZ's - have run them on many of my cars including my 356C

I’ve had friends with them on Bristol and a Bentley MK VI and in both cases they howled like an air raid siren.

I’ve used Vredesteins on and off for forty odd years, I have them on my Healey and they’re going on the 356. They’re as good as any and they last quite well.

A customer has them on a C type replica, not well suited at all. Too stiff in the carcass, too hard compound for this car. The ride quality is not great. I think they are better suited to earlier cars, where often the suspension is more compliant and wheel angles are more upright. We are taking them off and fitting some Avons.

Just my experience,

I have them on El Chucho - also ran Vredesteins. Blockleys suit the car well, being compliant, and better suited to the car than the Vredesteins. Dry weather grip very good, as proved at Chobham a while back. I'd love to run some Pirellis or Avons but can't justify the expenditure right now.
