Hi Neil
I'm so glad that you are organizing this! It used to be one of Chris's little missions he had to complete and from beginning of November it was spread sheets of who was coming and who was eating what! Always a lovely event and it would be great to attend albeit in different circumstances - I will bring Chris in spirit! (Don't worry, I won't bring his ashes that would be too weird!)
Thank you
Suzanne

Re: London Christmas Dinner Orange Tree Wed 13 Dec 7pm
I noticed when reading the menu that a 12.5% service charge will be added to an group of 8 or more so I have rounded up the payment for my three courses from £27.95 to £31.50 (or slightly more when sent to a friend).
In the past our good friend Chris must have absorbed this charge along with the other charges for wine etc. Thinking about it Paul probably did last year too.

Re: London Christmas Dinner Orange Tree Wed 13 Dec 7pm
I think, given the usual size of the DDK ensemble, (& the amount spent over the bar), a 'deal' could possibly be struck with the Orange Tree to waive the extra service charge ...

Yes, we certainly all were well looked after with Chris's hospitality for many years. He'll be missed. Thanks Chris (and Suzanne) for establishing this wonderful yearly DDK get together.jb wrote:In the past our good friend Chris must have absorbed this charge along with the other charges for wine etc.
The final bill is tricky to guess, certainly there is the service charge and the bar bill but also those extras can be reduced a little if anyone should pre-pay and not attend.jb wrote:Thinking about it Paul probably did last year too.
Last year the venue was good enough to only charge for the number of meals consumed (not the booking).

Ouch! I hadn't considered a service charge on top of the bill. I will ask about that head of time so we have an idea but I certainly we not be covering itFerry Man wrote:Yes, we certainly all were well looked after with Chris's hospitality for many years.
