About to rebuild my carbs as the MOT man didn't like the drip from one of the accelerator pump diaphrams. They are currently fitted with chrome topped K&N filters, which are 15 years old and havn't been properly cleaned for at least 7 years....Inside they have straight velocity stacks about 50mm tall.
What are reckoned to be the best (in performance terms) air filters and appropriate velocity stacks these days?

Re: Weber 40 idf Air Filter Question
Performance wise I wouldn't know but these are nice as they look vintage and a bit like super 90 and sc filters.

Re: Weber 40 idf Air Filter Question
I think that the height of stack is tough question to answer without knowing the cam and if you have a big bore kit. I also have chrome topped K&N filters and about 50mm stacks I think you have a nice setup. Why not just clean/replace the filters?Winston Teague wrote:About to rebuild my carbs as the MOT man didn't like the drip from one of the accelerator pump diaphrams.
