What are the plans for the rest of the engine? What's going to get you to the 250 hp? Trick induction and exhaust?

All the best
I don't know if I will actually make 250hp, but that would be nice. We are still yet to work out exactly what compression we are going to make the pistons, but that is up to what ever we decide works the best. The heads are already twin plugged and I will be using ITB's with some sort of EFI set up yet to be determined, and then a custom cam grind will be designed to match. As for the exhaust, I already have a set of headers on the car running to the standard 2 in 1 out muffler. My plan all along was to cut open the muffler and re design it to a 2 in 2 out and open it up a bit, but I now have some more ideas of other ways I can go about it.

So there is a bit to do yet, and any hp figures are all complete speculation at this point. My main requirement is to have a reliable fun engine that I can drive every day, so HP can take a back seat, but with all we are doing I think it should be somewhere in the ball park.

Excellent video Jeff. Most enjoyable and very informative. Kudos to Performance Developments for inviting you down and letting you use their machines.

Don't forget to post all the details. Much as we love a bit of sewing machine action, hi comp twin plug hot cam action is what really gets us going :-)

Loved your latest instalment Jeff, can only speak for myself but the technical content was spot on for us novices when it comes to all things engines. Look forward to seeing your next engine update

Thanks guys. I learned so much in this last week. Like most of us, I am no expert, and although I may have had a rough idea of what is going on inside the engine. I still saw it as a very scary technical thing. I am more of a visual person, so I found I gained a much better, clearer understanding of what is going on, once I got to see it. My hope is that that stuff comes through on the video so that you guys can learn this 'mysterious' stuff, along with me.

Great videos Jeff. The engine rebuild was really informative. Having seen the amount of work required, I'm really glad I got an expert to do mine.

Yeah. I only touched on it, as most is the work I did was repairing the damage. It really needs to be done properly or you may as well not do it at all.

This week I have added the stripes to the rear grill. I started to get the pedal box sorted out and I finally got the dash finished.

In this weeks episode I have a go at a DIY sports exhaust mod, by converting my original 2 in 1 out muffler to a 2 in 2 out.

Thanks mate. Glad you enjoyed it. The body is almost there now, just waiting on the engine parts to get sorted now.
