This story is now round the World on at least two Continents and is making a bit of a laughing stock of our auction houses, our newspapers and our ddk knowledge.
I have suggested on another thread that the wording is close to deception. At one time perhaps we could call it ignorance but on this occasion I think there is a downright attempt (by someone) to hoodwink any potential buyer. A fool and his money are easily parted it is said but I think a small crowbar is being used here to facilitate the extraction of a quarter of a million pounds from some unsuspecting individual.

Agreed. Ridiculous auction and newspaper write-up on this. I kept an eye on this auction (and had a few comments myself over on ESR regarding the appalling way the car was marketed). It was bid to £175,000 and no sale. Reserve 'unrealistic'? Seller looking for more? Wrong auction house? Market put off by the misrepresentation? Any thoughts?
(I do have a vested interest, as did see the car in person at Garry's place, and it was a nice car, and the VIN is only 11 digits away from my 'S, build date 2 days after)
