It's a brand innit. No different to the Supreme t shirt vs the George at Asda t shirt. Both are t shirts, both are old Porsches...

But what about the signature upgrades: "Grafted-in tail lights, reworked sheet metal for the front turn signals, drilled door handles, and a louvered engine cover..."

If someone did a mash-up of his youtube clips, he'd just be saying louvered deck lid, inset tail lights on repeat.

Like Supreme, its Emperor's new clothes.

Plus rarity value - this is a one-off, not a mass production item with a logo stitched on.

Whoever buys it will have a talking point car. The car is famous, like it or not.
Everyone will know what it is at cars and coffee, when it's time to sell others who have bought into the Magnus brand will see the value.
Expensive, yes, but a bad investment - not necessarily.

Exactly the same as the art market, which seems to work OK.

I'm not sure if it is?

It's not Nick's, one of his customers cars who wants to sell.....it was the (other) silver car featured with Graham Ridgeways' in Classic Porsche Magazine a few issues back, it looks great and has a very hot £30K engine in the back. I'm told it goes very well and seems a lot of car for the money.

I was only chatting about the car in passing so don't have any more details but call Nick if you'd like details - 07799 855911

To be completely transparent, I have a car for sale so I was interested in what the competition was rather than looking to buy :)

That's what I mean with the Supreme analogy, they limit the volume too.

Most hot rod individual cars are one offs built to how the owner decides at the time.

In fact most old Porsches are different, there are not many the exact same you see.

Hot rods as a group are not one offs though. This car is no rarer than any other hot rod and magnus himself has hot rodded quite a lot.

It's nothing to do with the actual car itself.....it's just the marketing of it.
