Speedster sold on 'bring-a-trailer'
Interesting one. I think the buyer did extremely well in today's market!

Re: Speedster sold on 'bring-a-trailer'
I really liked this one, and another Ivory '57 Speedster that went on ebay last year for same price. This one was spot on: Honestly faulty, on the button, utterly fab. Buy it, spend some time driving up to NY, ship it home RORO, drive it a lot, and once bored of this, easy cheap fix up, repeat. Bondo in the floors doesn't matter: its MOT exempt anyway.....ah well....W

Absolutely! I have a habit of buying complete projects. Sometimes, just something you can drive and not worry too much about seems the right way to go....

Re: Speedster sold on 'bring-a-trailer'
Agreed! I have normally bought stripped down "basket cases" and spent years restoring!
I have a ratty old AFN supplied RHD BT6, which splits people's opinions. Some say restore, others say drive as is! Original interior, worn carpets and poor 40 year old re-spray from light ivory to silver! Jump in, go anywhere and upset the Gucci loafer shiny paint on lawn brigade.....
That speedster though cost more than my house is worth!

It doesn't matter if you speak your mind, because those that matter don't mind and those that mind don't matter.......!

Re: Speedster sold on 'bring-a-trailer'
It was very interesting when it was stuck on $80k for the majority of the auction...I didn't even have a fraction of that available but was still putting serious thought and effort to see where I could get it from...even the bank manager could see the value in a circa $80k speedster

I watched this with great interest too. I was ready to sell my A coupe when it was stuck around £80K but alas £200K was too much for my dreaming. I would have bought it and driven it, well maybe fixed the floor.
