The 'Maverick' Classic Porsche Forum and Classic Porsche Club for Porsche 356, Aircooled Porsche 911, Porsche 912, Porsche 914 & Porsche Replicas. 'We join for the cars but stay for the people'
These are comment from m friend who viewed the car in the West Country on April 24th
"Went to see the 911E on Sunday-a wasted trip. Car over described and about 2 X the realistic price. Only stayed 5 mins. Rust bubbles and 50 Shades of white paint. Guy was a trader masking as a private seller.
The info the guy sent through was excellent but the photos were strong on style and (with hindsight) weak on detail. On the phone he said it was 'the best in the country' so he is either a bit deluded on trying it on"
I was just typing out a post and read Nick's ^^^. Thinking for a specialist dealer the price (as a starting point) wasn't as much as i thought. From the images it looks pretty as a picture.
Interesting it doesn't bear up as it seems to present really well and this doesn't come across from JZM's write-up. No mention of "patina" even.
"This vehicle really was a dream to inspect and needless to say it passed the inspection with flying colours as it has never been welded, it has original factory doors, panels and floorpan. This is a genuine California car that has lived the last 45 years in a dry, warm west coast climate. We just don’t get to see them like this in Europe. The car has now been fully prepared for the British climate by means of a thorough wax oiling, this car really does ned to be seen to be fully appreciated."
