Just goes to show that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I recently picked up this 1955 Enicar Healthways 100 fathoms

Four years earlier Enicar had launched Seapearl 600 which was marketed in America by Healthways, one of America's biggest retailers of aqua and sports equipment.
For this watch Enicar commissioned the top Swiss watch case maker EPSA to manufacture a turtle lugged 14 facet bayonet release Compressor case to outgun the very successful but costly Blancpain 50 fathoms.
This case was patented as Brevet 98243 and was the forerunner of the Enicar Super Compressor cased Brevet 314962 watches.
50 fathoms was considered to be the maximum depth a diver could achieve with the oxygen mixture then in use. It equates to 10ATM or approx 300ft of static water pressure ( the height of Big Ben ).
Enicar was confident that the new Seapearl 600 was good for twice that depth and Healthways cheekily marketed the American version as the Enicar Healthways 100 Fathoms.

The minute and hour hands look like lume laden miniature surf boards and the seconds hand resembles exhibit 'A' from a police crime scene, but that makes it easy to read in murky waters.
The movement was Enicar's in house AR 1010 with Chronometer accuracy accreditation from the Neuchatel Observatory.
Top quality ' In House ' movement, best quality Swiss case, Domed Lucite crystal – all this for way under half the cost of the Blancain.
' Rather gaudy and strange looking ' was a miscellaneous comment made in the 1959 divers watch evaluation report from the US Navy Experimental Diving Unit ( EDU ) after very favourably testing the Enicar Seapearl 600.
Really can't imagine why they said that ?
A real marmite watch this and really not for the squeamish.

A gold and steel bimetal 69173 Datejust with box but no original papers (will come with certificate of authenticity) and would suit a lady with smaller wrists.

If you have no luck there try the omega forums. I searched for two years to find the correct pusher for my heuer. Hopefully omega pushers are more standard.
