3.0 litre RS and 3.0 litre RSR Brakes

Post by fetuhoe »

Does anyone have details of the size of brakes fitted to both the 3.0 litre RS and 3.0 litre RSR.

I need fully detailed information with regard to the calipers - number and sizes of pistons, front and rear and rotors, diameter and thickness front and rear.

The bolt spacing on the mounting lugs would also be useful.

Thanks in advance.

the 1974 3.0 litre RS had 917 brakes and given that all the 934's and 935's in 1976 were still using the 917 brakes, I reckon it's fairly safe to say that the 3.0 RSR ran them too.

917 brake spec:

3.5" spacing front and rear
4 pot calipers
vented cross drilled discs that measure 304x34mm front and rear

hope that helps

If you want real info speak to Dave Griffiths at DG Racing in Shrewsbury, he looks after 2 0r 3 917's and showed me some calipers he had on his shelf, he may be able to help. 01743 860908.
