Could you resist the temptation to do another full full resto? If you're doing that, perhaps it's an expensive donor car?

There's a thread on earlysregistry on this car, the owner is well known on there and is a bit of an expert when it comes to all things carb's as well as other areas of early 911s. I believe the owner has spent some time developing the motor

Yes looks like it. I don't like to think of the oil supply being so far away from the engine though. But I'm sure it's fine!

Lots of race cars have the oil tank the opposite end to the engine.

Cars like this that have been owned/developed by an owner over many (~ 40) years are obviously very 'personal' so have a very limited market - couple that with the fact that the market has switched almost completely towards original spec cars & this explains why it has been up for sale for quite a while.

The non-std cars that sell quickly (& for the best prices) are those that mimic what the Factory did with their competition cars - the true 'sports purposes' cars.

...too nice a car to start pulling apart, well sorted with a number of rare parts. Certainly not a resto candidate and not for me.

However it does make you wonder why you'd put £80K into a restoration project when you could buy a ready to go 67S like this for similar money!

Absolutely nothing Ian and love both to bits .....I've just found after 5 years of restorations there's been a bit of a void and I enjoyed working with the people who helped so much I'd like to do another resto. I'd need to sell a car for this happen and can't quite bring myself to do that so another project is really just a dream!
