If anyone is slightly worried about a trackday, I can put you in contact with a company offering stand-alone trackday insurance for the day.

I'm very tempted by this. I'll check dates etc. and look to see if a Saturday drive up and stop over is feasible.

Egger Lawson ( http://www.competition-car-insurance.co.uk/ ) , ask for Chris ... I have just taken out one day cover with them for my trackday @ Cadwell ( Cadwell is a bit more unforgiving than other places  )

Remember Elvington is a huge airfield with lots of run off :)

The way things are looking the cost might be nearer £100 8)

I will try find a hotel where you can all stay for a bit of 'pre-trackday' beer & banter 8)
Excellent 8) I'm looking forward to this, as much as I drive my cars in anger wherever possible (within legalities of course  ), I've yet to sample either on a track/airfield yet.

I guess I'll need to get a crash hat sorted.

I opted for 'minimum' cover of £10K , this cost me £90 with a £2K excess. It doesn't cost much more to increase the value covered. I could have covered the full value of the car but opted not to.

Post by Mike Usiskin »

Hi all,

I could be up for this since I need to find those edges but I havn't got the correct visa's for Yorkshire

Is there anyone going up from london so a convoy perhaps. Mind you I may have the wife and kids in the back so a trip to york as well but make it more sellable!

No Hydrocarbons were hurt in the sending of this mail. Thanks

This is tempting and right on my doorstep. As my Northern brethren know I fight shy of getting 'hooked' on this malarky, so no .. no .... no .... well...................?
Presumably I can come and watch?

Could be Mike, but I'm on holiday from Thursday for 2 weeks so can't make any plans until I return. 911's MOT is about to run out, so this will only give me a week to try and sort it out when I get back. 914 also needs some attention to it's front brakes and isnt running it's best at the moment but I will be doing everything in my power to have at least one car ready for this.

Mike, there is one of those designer outlet villages just back in York. My Mrs was tempted to pop in last time I went to Elvington. Luckily, she decided to stay and watch :)
