Rocker Trim / SSI's - '70 911T

My 911T is missing quite a bit of chrome trim, in particular the rocker trim, rocker end caps, and front and rear bumper end caps.

I looks like it was all removed at some point for a respray many years ago and never put back.

Does anyone know if the 70' 911T came with the narrow or wide rocker trim originally and would this make a difference to which end caps to fit?

I'm also looking at replacing the Heat Exchangers in November and was wondering if it was worthwhile replacing the exhaust too for a stainless steel job. Any recomendations? Is there a performance upgrade here that brings the bhp that bit closer to a S ?

If it had rocker end caps, then it would be the wide S type trim. The narrow trim does not go to the ends. You can buy all those parts new, or they do turn up on ebay. I can help you with some of the parts you need, such as bumper end caps and rocker end caps. PM me if you want them. As for the exhuast, using the SSI is considered the best approach, as they will not rust, are very good quality and also look great. If needed its worth doing the exhuast as well. In order to get more HP you will need to do a lot more with the motor, and being a 70 T your crank is also none counter weighted.

I've just bought the S Rocker trim for my car. Cheapest place I found after a bit of ringing round was Roger Bray. About £180 + vat for all the bits.

Cheers, I don't know if it ever had end caps for the rocker trim.. any ideas ? There is a line of holes in the side of the car which I think suggests it had the narrow trim fitted previously.. as I thought the wide trim was attached via screws underneath the sills.. am I right?

The wide S aluminium sill trim was attached with 2 rows of screws - one along the side (hidden by the rubber strip) & another underneath the car.

Is this OK? It's the only picture I have to hand that shows where the trim should be... Fairly certain I need the narrow trim.

Looks like narrow trim to me, which would also match the narrow trim on the rear bumper.
