front door 1/4 glass rubber

I have just got my door frames re-chromed and they are in bits.
I have new rubbers but not sure best way to fit.
its from a 1966 coupe with the moveable glass panel
from your experience do you put the door frame back together 1st and then squeeze the rubber in, or partially assemble door frame and fit rubber as you go.

Fit em into the frame first, a bit of fairy liquid helps too

had a dry run trying to work it out, makes sense as you have to fit the window into the frame and rubber at the same time
what do you guys use to keep the glass in the frame, silicon?

If you mean the opening 1/4 glass into its surround frame, then I used windscreen bond ( polyurethane), put a good amount into the chrome frame, bedded the glass into it and left it to dry for a couple of days. Then, with a new sharp blade, cut off the excess 'spillage' which leaves a neat 'rubber gasket' effect that has no danger of the glass falling out, unlike silicone.
