Gear selector rod bush (front)

Post by Timo »

Having lost 4th/5th gear on the flat 4 meet up last year I've finally got around to removing the gearstick assembly to assess the issue. It turns out that the large O ring bush that the selector rod runs through (at the front end of the tunnel) before it connects to the gearstick assembly has split and come adrift. What are my options for replacing this part, is it purely a standard replacement rubber part or are there urethane replacements on offer? If so what do people recommend?

As the item you describe has broken, I would remove the gear lever housing, rod support and the connector at the rear (under the inspection cover rear passenger area) and replace all of the nylon bushes. There cheap and readily available from Porsche.
