where do you source parts

question above,is there any places in uk or europe for supplying bits,or is it pelican parts in the US,

been looking at a cple of 912e's in europe,but these have US spec front and rear lights for a start,and for mot to register a car these would need to be changed....thanks

Many suppliers in Europe. I regularly use Type911 and Rose Passion. Also not forgetting Porsche OE from dealers. It's worth checking from them first as it's often the same price.

You might be surprised on that front, my car had been in the uk for about 6 years when I bought it and it still had all its US lights in place at that point, since purchasing it 10ish years ago I have updated the headlights to correct euro style but left the all red US rear lights in place as I quite like them, not once has the mot man picked me up on them. Not a huge issue to swap over if he ever does get picky though.

I bought a 912E from the U.S and swapped out the lights to get it passed its MOT. It does depend on your tester but technically they need to flash amber for a car of that year. It was a fairly easy job, got some rear amber lenses I think from design911 for the rears, just screw straight in.

For the front lights, I didn't bother with Hella. From memory they were mini lights from a classic mini store which cost me £30 for the pair. Involved a tiny bit of rewiring to move the side lights from the amber shared indicator to the side light in the new lights. Anyway passed its MOT and job done. Kept the old bits though... at some point when I have finished off other jobs I will revisit the headlights and get some more original ones.
