Door hinge bolts - do they need washers?

My painter is doing the final trial assembly of doors etc before the final paint stages, so now is the time to get all the correct bolts fitted.

PET shows hex head bolts for the door hinges of my '74 car but doesn't show any washers.
Engine lid and trunk hinges are shown with locking and standard washers, but nothing shown for the door hinges.
When I disassembled my car the bolts had washers with them but not sure if they were original.

Does anyone know what would be original - washers or no washers?

Door bolts have a flanged head so no need for washers

Hi John thanks for the response.

The bolts that I took off my '74 car don't have a flanged head but I would guess they are originals as most are stamped VERBUS.

The replacement ones RosePassion sell are flanged, but some other parts sellers seem to sell standard bolts.
Looking back at disassembly photos my car had washers fitted, which is why I was surprised that PET didn't show any.

The painter tells me he needs them in the next day or so, so have limited time to determine what the standard is and get the right hardware. I gave him the bolts yesterday without washers which is what prompted the question.

I think my car was built late '73 and I suspect my car is more like the 70-73 PET diagram where a standard bolt was used with a lock washer.

bolt 99909301002 which has a flanged head.

So I probably need to source some lock washers and get them to my painter ASAP.

My Feb 73T had ordinary bolts, plain washers and spring washers! The car was re-painted in about 1986 and I doubt the bolts I describe are correct.
iirc the hinge is slotted or the hole oversized for adjustment so you need a thick form washer at least to bridge the slot. I think the correct bolt is flanged for this reason to cover the slot as per John's picture above..

Thanks for the help John and Graham, I have got some flanged bolts on order [ and some lock washers - as I am too indecisive ]. Hopefully they will arrive before the painter gets a move on.
