356 flapper boxes.

Post by mycar »

As my heating is so rubbish in the 356 I thought I'd investigate.

When the flaps in the flapper boxes are in the closed position, i.e.blocking the passage of air through the flapper box... Is that heating on or heating off ?

Ok, I think I've got it :- flaps open, heating off, flaps closed, heating on !

The beauty of having the lovely lift is it's easy to see what's going on and what's been done. The rods weren't connected up correctly to the heater cans and flapper box levers last time the engine was fitted. All sorted now I think.

The heater cans are clever, little silencers with a valve/trapdoor to allow the heat through.

Looks a bit ropey but actually pretty good considering what it does and where it lives.

The Very Best Versions of these have been re-manufactured by PRS with emphasis on them being perfect copies of the originals with the exception that - a stronger Return Spring is fitted plus Heat Resistant Sealing Washers

The Inlet and Outlet Angles are also correct and the essential Noise Damping is fitted internally (unlike other units on the market)

Units are Bead Blasted and Powder Coated - ready to fit

The full range of Valves is available (with the exception of those fitted to Euro Heater Cars)
1) - Pre `A`
2) - `A`
3) - B`s and C/SC
4) - `A` Carrera (different angles + additional small Brackets)

We also manufacture
1) - The correct design Clamps for these units (there are 6 different sizes of these Clamps used in various areas - we manufacture all sizes)
2) - Control Rods are Handed - we supply in Stainless Steel bent to the correct Angles
3) - Control Rod Clips - direct Copies of Originals
