1972 911 pedal box

have been refurbishing my pedal box this weekend.

This is what it looks like now having replaced the plastic bushes with bronze.





On reassembly. i came across 2 slight issues on which any advice would be welcome:



1. The clutch pedal shaft in the parts manual diagrams and photos has a cranked vertical at the end that goes next to the plastic spacer. Mine doesn't, it is straight - is this a problem?

2. My clutch pedal spring only has one hook. The one in the parts diagram has 2 which makes sense. So i am presuming my spring has one of the hooks snapped off? However, when i look at one of the online 911 parts retailers catalogues, the replacement spring they sell also only has 1 hook??? What am i missing???

Sadly the spring is broken.

The Design 911 photograph is incorrect and is a brake pedal spring.

The clutch pedal spring is a helper spring and not a return spring and has two hooks.

Clutch Springs for later pedal boxes are completely different.

Some pedal shafts have a cranked bracket, those with the straight bracket have a longer plastic spacer to correctly position the cable.

thanks for that, have ordered the spring. lets see what is dleivered! i have the straight crank and the plastic spacer.

We have re-manufactured all of the early non-servo pedal box springs for both LHD and RHD pedal boxes as they differ and don't interchange.

We have the Brake Pedal Return Springs and the Clutch Helper springs and the correct RHD Accelerator pedal bushes that are missing from the basic Bronze Bush Kit.
