Re: 911S at Auction
Certainly looks like an adventure for someone.
Not sure the gobs of weld on the chassis number are factory.

Should look more like this I think.

Re: 911S at Auction
Tread very carefully with this one. There were only 35 Rhd 67S cars built and I don't think this is one of them.
There is more lwb about this car than swb. and thanks to Mike he has seen the likely 2009/13 welds around the chassis number. The aluminium vin plate has some interesting fixing screws and I'm thinking this is a vin swop car.
I have a few details on the 'real' car with this chassis number so it would be an easy check to work out if real. Now, Mike, if you and I had a fancy X ray vin reader we could charge for this $hit.
Regards
Mike

Re: 911S at Auction
The original car is in a unique colour combination so it would be a great question to ask the owner what that was!

Auction house hasn't done due diligence ? It should be informed if it is a vin swap

Re: 911S at Auction
Mike, where did those two VIN shots come from? The second I have very little info on.
It would also be useful to check the numbers on the knee frame of the dash, and the crayon # on the cowl.

Re: 911S at Auction
The first, VIN 307881S is from the advertised car.
The 305464S VIN is from a thread on Pelican which I fear may be a dead end for you.

Re: 911S at Auction
Thanks Mike. I had already posted on the Pelican thread (as djpateman) and worked back to Early 911S Registry and to German Master Tech; so I got a bit more info.
I could not find the VIN photo of 307881S though. Any other photos that might show the interior of front trunk?

There are a few more photographs on the H&H auction page, it invites you to load more images under the 6 thumbnails.

Here's the only photo of under the front bonnet hood bonnet.
