Definitely, if Halfords sold Kevs, they'd not be able to keep up with demand. Every 914 should have been shipped with one.

BTW, I don't know why, but out of the blue I'm really warming to the idea of another '14 ....

Good luck for the Saturday :) .

So Kevin came round to have a look and from looking and checking the pedal feel decalred the brakes to feel ok without any obvious sign of air. He adjusted the free play of the pedal, of which there was far too much. So then we went for a drive round the block (a few times) and at first use agreed the stopping power was poor. But with some further use and heat, he could lock the wheels. I'd had one go at bedding in, but perhaps not enough.

So we will get the MoT booked so I can get it registered and drive it around to see what happens with the brakes.

So 1 pace forward and no paces back! Thanks Kevin!!

So I went to the MoT today - and passed - hurrah! Better get the form filled in and posted off now.

The brakes feel fine. The length of the the initial pedal travel plus the fact they needed more bedding in must have been it.

Thanks both! Now there will be a load of daft 'what do I put in this box on the form' type questions
