spare wheel and tyre size

Hi All
My 67 is finally on the road and I am looking at putting a spare wheel in it, it has 6 inch fuchs on it so for speed I was going to put a fake fuchs in it. At the moment it has 185 vredestin tyres on them. I was looking for some info on what size wheel and tyre will fit nicely in side the whole? Should I go 4.5 or is 5.5/6 ok? I have a spare Michelin xzx 165 tyre brand new so I was hoping I could put this on and get away with it for a spare. Any info would be appreciated.

I am using a stock 15" 67 year steel wheel with a 165 / 80 / 15, fits well, no issues and has a very similar rolling radius to my road wheels

Thanks for the reply. I got the tyre fitted on a 5.5 fake Fuchs, it's the cars first run out since a full nut and bolt job and considering how much it has fought me I am taking a spare and full tool kit

i think your car should fit 165R15 and the http://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/page/16 ... -ca67.html or the http://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/page/16 ... n-xas.html would be the most period tyres. and Porsche have now also homologated a http://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/page/16 ... 36-n4.html with the N4 designation, which is a slightly later tread pattern.

Fitting a 165R15 tyre onto a 5.5" rim is fine.

You can also fit a http://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/page/18 ... 36-n4.html on a 5.5" rim if you like but 165 is more original to your car.
