Accelerator pedal "raiser"

Post by roadiesean »

Hi all

So, I really struggle to heel-toe my 912 because the brake pedal is very high in comparison to the accelerator, as I am bimbling off to the widl roads of Wales this coming weekend, I thought that heel toeing would be helpful. I have made up a block with sandpaper on the top and its ready to go on, but I don't want to screw into the original pedal, anyone got any bright ideas ?? Or does someone sell something that can go over the top of the original pedal ?

Thanks
Sean

Hi Sean

After I rebuilt my pedal box, with new bushes this issue was resolved.

Also you can adjust the brake pedal bite point by adjusting the actuating rod at the base of the brake pedal. If you wanted to lower the bite point so you could heel and toe. This would increase the brake pedal travel.

Kind Regards

Mmmmm, yes, bushes, I think that is the cause of the problem but I need a quick fix as I'm off on Friday night. Thanks for the actuator tip mate and I hadn't realised that bushes could make that much of a difference, but knowing the state of every other bush that I've taken off the car, these will be knackered also I'm sure !!!

I had this issue on a 964 and I bought a spare accelerator pedal, trimmed it and stuck it on top of the original. Worked well and looked more respectable than the block of wood I was running before that.

Enjoy Wales, might be busy at this time of year over a weekend so try and stay off the main roads.

On my 2.4s my rod between the pedal and the pedal box has been cut and extended

As YODA says, I could do with sorting my 964
