I am about to remove my Solex carbs from the 912
once cleaned up and ready to put back together do you use any gasket sealant?
also some forums mention lubricating , presumable the various external linkages, any recommendations on what to lube with
thanks

When I did my webers for my 911 assembly was dry.
I lubricated all the small bearing surfaces/links with a drop of engine oil.(as in a drop)

Same here - never used any type of sealant with the gaskets.

As for lubricating the linkages I use a small amount of copper grease on the balljoints & light (eg sewing machine) oil on the pivots, etc.

Some good pictures here on Bruce's site http://www.sparkingplugs.com/5.html

I've never worked on solex carbs but understand they can be a bit tricky if the shafts are worn.
