Look on piston heads under the 356 for sale section and you'll see them all . Fab looking cars, but I'm no 356 expert so for all I know they could have all sorts of wrong details. Calling Hendrik

Sorry, have been away on holiday.
Nice looking cars, but the details are missing.

The cab shouldn't have that (repro) hood handle, roof looks like it's not folding properly and it shouldn't have the 1960 and later floor mats.
The coupe has quite a few of the knobs missing, (much) later engine and again wrong floor mats.

I always hate the descriptions on these, loads of stuff about the history of Porsches but very little on the actual car.

Will be interesting what they sell for.

True but if you read it to the end, you'll see why I posted it.

There was quite an upset at the time because they'd sold a load of cars and then filed for bankruptcy. Lots of vendors were elderly and had either borrowed against houses or spent the pension pot in the belief that they'd at least get most of their money back when they stopped driving. In the event they lost the lot.

Coys continued to claim that they'd been in continuous business since 1919 and got sued as result. I couldn't find the story, but they had a history of failures I think and it all came out.

These days classic car dealers are doing well, so you're probably safe, but it's sensible to be wary IMO.

Agreed but even the Porsche general history is dubious

I would loved to be proven wrong but 102 NM in a 2 piece engine in a cab?

Neil, the cab has the 1500 super engine which has this kind of torque/speed and which had become available in '52.
Or at least it is badged to say it has one.

The history does have holes in it though.

At this time Reutter DIDN'T produce all the split window cars. Glaeser also produced some cabriolets and over coach works also produced cars later.

"Lockhead discs at the 1951 Frankfurt show"? Jaguar only used the disc brake at Le Mans in 1953.....

All the cars sold to Max Hoffmann? Although Max bought around 50% that's not all the cars.
