The car has R styled front and rear bumpers which are fibreglass with the R type rear lights, so no they are not original for a 912 but do give it an Outlaw look. The wings front and rear are also Carrera types so flared but would not have been originally.

Overall the car is a bit of a mongrel, but I love it.

Manage to get one seat belt in and remove the cross brace before I got called in for dinner.

Well tonight I joined the ranks of true 912 ownership - I changed the spark plugs!

This was my first time on a 912 and as someone said on another forum (I googled how to change 912 spark plugs afterwards) this was Porsche's joke on 912 owners.

What an absolute pig of a job this was to do. I lost (as it turns out what most first timers do) the plug under the tinware when it came out. There was no way to fish it out. This lead, long story short to tinware off, carbs off, washer down intake manifold, manifold off, washer out, put it all back together..

Top tip...put a couple of pieces of masking tape over the plug socket, when you push this over the top of the plug it locks the plug into the socket so when you pull out the plug stays firmly in the socket. The same trick works in reverse. There's a joke in there somewhere I'm sure.

All good fun in the end and I've learned something new. hopefully my pain is someone else's gain.

This little chapter of my Porsche ownership is now over. The car was sold yesterday. I wasn't particularly looking to sell it but I got a good offer and am busy with my ongoing camper van project.

I am however in discussion with a couple of people over a replacement 912, LHD this time though.

Thanks for all the kind comments and motivation on this thread, I hope I will be starting a new one soon.
