The very finest one's would probably fetch that money Keith. That would have to include a full interior restoration, which this car clearly hasn't had. I am a fan of patina, but collapsed seats are not the same thing..!

The problem is they cost the same as a 911 to restore but they are miles apart in final values.

As far as i can tell, its had the dash and seats recovered (dash a shame imho, it wasnt bad at all, and original), some minor local paint marks sorted, a new gearbox syncro and a couple of minor oil leaks sorted, and the clock repaired. Its certainly not been restored again.

It was a great car, but £50k? £50k is still quite a lot of money.

I think the market should normalise for good 912s being around 25-30k. But what do i know. Maybe im just bitter! hehe.

That yellow one is just all wrong, 911SC wheels, not got the original door cards and £50k ? Ridiculous. But that one currently advertised on here.....without photos (??) is just mad, but there was one advertised somewhere at £75k. But advertised and sold are two different things.

However, are they worth more than a crappy SC or any other IB car ? Yes, definitely, I've had two IB's and a 964 RS copy and the 912 is better than all of them, not faster, but better IMHO, they are amazing little cars and the weight loss makes them sharp. Mine is a 1730 and it puts out about 120bhp, first 911's are 130bhp but heavier. All I know is you will be dragging it out of my cold dead hands.

But, if someone offered me £86,000 I'd be tempted )))

There is quite an extensive build thread on 912bbs by Dan Hansen on this car which does look pretty impressive.

I would be concerned about how well put together a car that has had a full resto is.

Even if you're ok with a shiny car full of repro parts it's not promised to handle like a Porsche should...

That car is also lovely Steve, it joined us at Stanford hall I think the first year we had a display there. It used to be much lower and I believe it was magazine featured (classic Porsche?)
