912 - SWB - 3 Guage - 1966 LHD - The best in Europe?

Post by DanHansen »

This car is in it´s final stage to be finished.
There is not a single nut, bult, wire, you name it, and its either renovated beyond imagine or replaced with the best parts on the market.
The entire car was stripped to bare metal, any bodypart that needed to be replaced, are replaced with NOS parts, except for the outer panels at each side. Then it was send to the paint shop, where it sitting for 10 weeks, because each layer should sit for one week to rest, before the next layer was applied, its final color is Helelfenbein.
The entire undercarrige was stripped, powdercoatet, mounted with new bearlings, rubber bushings, calipers, hoses, shocks from Bilstein etc.
All brakelines in and out are replaced with steel lines, the pedal cluster are disasemblied, stripped, powdercoated before put back together wiht new bronze bushings.
The orig. Lemmertz Wheels where beadblasted, painted in the original gray looking color, shot with period correct Micheling XVS and finished up with NOS SS hubcaps and crest´s, those where polished before they went back on.
The 3 gauges, was send to North Hollywood Speedometers, CA where they was rebuild, calibrated before mounted with freshly new chrome-rings.
Speaking of chrome, every windshield frame (Brass) was cleaned to clear, before applied four layers of new chrome, then mounted in new rubber all over.
The seats was completly stripped, and rebuild again with new black vinyl, all brackets, seat recliners where rechromed, all carpets, headliners trim and other details are new.
The wirring harness are done by Kroon in Holland, and are made specially for this car, it also features wirring for the Hella 128 Foglights and for the Hazzard blinker, which by the way, both are original switches!
The entire motor, where sent to Benton Performance, CA where it was completly rebuild by one the best in the buisness, it took allmost a year for them to rebuild it, to a concours looking motor, where only a full-flow kit, and a Bursch Exhaust, reweals that it´s performance are a bit over the standard Super 90 it once was, producing 130 Bhp it´s a spinner.
The 901 dogleg 5 speed gearbox was taken appart as well, all syncromeses, bearings etc. was replaced, before put back together with new sealings.
This car is by far, one of, if not the best on the European market at this point, and I will doubt you, if you can find a equal to it? The point of details are so original and precise that you have to see it,to believe it.
