Here are just a few of my 120 Goodwood pics... I was able to meet up with DDK forum user VeryPorky or Kieth as his mates would call him.

I was a great event and I really enjoyed it. The thrills, spills and crashes of vintage racing was awesome.

There off...

The first corner was great.

I must get myself a 356 when funds allow.

This little baby belonged to Jim Clark, and has many famous drivers and passengers including Graham Hill.

This is the race engine as the original is tucked up inj hibernation.

Note original silver dash.. seems Jim Clark was a DDK'r at heart and couldn't leave well enough alone how Porsche delivered it from the factory... so he had it painted white. They left the dash and interior silver, I'm sure PCGB concours judges would flip out at Mr Clark for such heinious crime.

Sorry I was trying to squeeze in the bloody thing to get this shot... not enough room really.

The car leaving with the owner who is a VERY friendly chap, who was only too happy to share details of the car with us. Top geezer.

Then there were these things..

Did you know that the only Mustangs allowed to race by the FIA in period would be the Shelby Fastbacks or the Mustang Coupe' or Notchback as these were the only homodulated or whatever that word is...

So you can't just buy a fastback and race it unless its a real Shelby, but you can race any Notch, like the one I have

Which is nice to know. What do you think of the Minilight wheels on this blue one?

Dyno whta's this about 356 and funds alow I thought you had a 356 hidden away??

Also any more detail photo's of 2LAA would be good I would like to have a good look at those photo's
mail them to me

classic356 ( at sign ) classic 3 5 6 .co. uk join it all up mate and ping them over looked a top day OH and the mini lights hmmm look ok but a bit onthe small side. Do some paint effects on them and I think it would look better....eg paint spokes black

As far as I know, the ex-Jim Clark 356 - UUL 442 - is still co-owned by Mike Smith & Tom Pead. They did an amazing job in restoring what was left of the car after laying unused for 20-odd years.

Andy your right it was one rusty wreck not for the faint hearted one for the love of it.

It looked a top car .. CHeers MDR I will study those pic;s any one know the owner of that car it's a pre-a as well

Pic's look great Martin that car 2laa I do no it now it's Gant Speed's light blue one with abit of a stipe thing going on.... I don't think I would race mine when it's done I might wizz about the track but not race...ekk!!!!

Hi Alam,

Excellent day out. The Q to get out was easy peasy this year

Meeting that chap with Clark's 356 put the icing on the cake really. For me Clark was the god of driving and that combined with a Porsche 356 was fantastic. Jim Clark ran that car off the road on an occasion that is well documented in numerous biographies. Late night driving back to Scotland after a long days racing in the south. The car's owner was pleasant and chatty and told us about the trouble he had re doing the original accident repair to the n/s fr wing. Lovely to get so near to a real piece of racing history.

Not many other Porsches though this year which is unusual as they normally manage to produce a couple of Carrera Abarths or some other rare P cars.
Still a damn good meet so I thought I'd post a couple of pics of my favourite non P cars.

DB4 GT Oh yes please!!!! Sort of like Audis short wheelbase Quattro rally car 'cos they chopped it down in a similar manner. Rare as hens teeth. Another was seen racing in the TT.

Then the Alfa GTA not as rare as a DB4 GT but still only 500 made. Light weight everything, ex works cars under 800kgs, 165 bhp from a twin spark 1600 MMM!!!! tasty!!! Trouble is you could buy 3 Lotus Cortinas for 1 of these babies.

Interesting to see that the driving has improved since last year which to be honest was getting like touring cars. Personally like to see 'em rub a bit of paint but not the total carnage of '04.

Anybody else go on the Sunday except Alam and me???

Looked fantastic, wish I was there, but too many car related weekends, meant something had to go.
