Anyone seen these tail lights?

Post by ThreeTwo »

Hi...just wondering if anyone has seen the quality of these tail lights

Still fairly new to the 914 and not familiar with these guys. Comments appreciated

Thanks

yepp ... this is Auto Atlanta from the states (http://www.autoatlanta.com/)

These are "wrong" repros - they are Euro rear lights, but with the glass style of the US version
They just did a new run of Euro repros, now with the correct glass style around the corners

You are right to be asking the question on quality. I bought some clear "Italian spec" rear lenses from Pelican Parts in California and they were badly put together with air bubbles all through them. I had to send them back and get them replaced. Pelican Parts did not want to pay the shipping back to them but luckily I was in California the next week so I posted them from there. The replacements were better but nowhere near the quality of original parts.

not really ... I tried to make the difference better visible

this is the "wrong" repro Version (they made them a couple of years ago):

and this is the original version - AND Auto Atlanta did a new repro version that fits the original style:

off course, they try to sell off the older (= wrong) repro version, before they start to sell the correct one

there's a call for a group buy over at 914club.com => http://www.914club.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=429757

Hey Wolfgang...thanks very much for that - very useful

I will email Auto Atlanta and ask for a price for the correct version

Roger Bray has some in stock so I will ask them if the items they have are correct or not

Appreciate your help man

Take it easy
