I'm fitting a new headlining on my '74 sunroof 911 carrera - all nicely stripped and ready to install - at the rear there are supposed to be metal rods used to tension the lower part of the headlining to the parcel shelf. The first pic shows mine (before the headlining was removed) with no metal bar but a fibreboard strap. Is the headling supposed to be fixed to the strap (either glued, stapled or wrapped or ?) or is this non-standard?
Second pic shows one on pelican parts forum where there are metal rods and a loop has been sewn so that tension can be created on this often difficult area of the headlining to tension. Does look to be a more modern 911?
I think the fiberboard should be used (no other reason I can see it there in the first place) but would like some confirmation and advice before fitting up.

Thanks in advance
