I'm fitting a new headlining and following the advice on cleaning up the sunroof mechanism. while the headlining is out. Everything is stripped and I'm cleaning cables, guides and plates.
Pelicans advice is that all is rebuilt with no grease however during the system removal i've noticed some grease around the motor, on the cables (therefore in the cable tubes) around the guides and plates. I was going to rebuild "dry" and spray PTFE in all areas as a lubricant and leave at that. Therefore I'd like to clean the cable tubes prior to reassembly - any tips on this??
Also any other experience of to grease or not to grease the operating system - motor, cables, guides.
Thanks in advance
