Nice execution on the 3rd brake light Jon. Did you remove the drip tray ? Or does the strip slide in the cavity?

Got some positive feedback from people following me with my setup. i.e they can actually see the brake lights come on , especially when the rear lights are on .

What is the black bit on the tunnel?

Is it just to raise the gearlever position?

Thanks guys. Mark I have altered the wiring to run from a switch on the brake pedal, which is adjustable to set amount of pedal travel before the brake lights come on.

Jon have you got a pic of this - and what switch did you use?

I left the drip tray in place and the LED strips are waterproof so hope fully they will last as it would mean dropping the headlining to change them!

I haven't fixed the switch in place yet, I bought an early 911 switch, will post pic when it is mounted.

The rebel racing tunnel is purely to raise the gearshift, I will shorten the lever once I have seats fitted and can try it out for size...

So I spent a few evenings and the weekend taking more bits out of boxes and adding them to the car, and still it looks like a bare shell to the casual observer.

I bought new fuel pumps (the turbo has one front and rear) and assembled them onto their respective mounts.





I also reassembled the top steering column section with new bearings.





Fitted this back to the car along with the steering rack.





Added the brake lines all round and fitted the wiper motor.





Fitted the various electrical and fuel components into the engine bay.



Fitted the heater controls.



And brake servo



Couldn't resist trying on my 370mm Prototipo, its been waiting on the shelf a long time...

I've got the same high level brake light in my SC, I had the rear screen out so just peeled the headlining back enough to poke it in there. A blob of sikaflex on each end and it's been fine for a few years so far. Not much cop in daylight mind, but definitely worth it at night.

Thanks again chaps, after several years covered in the corner of the workshop I've definitely got my enthusiasm back on track.

I chose a job I could do inside in the warm on Sunday afternoon and put the door frames and quarter windows back together after they were stripped down for anodising.

The door frames are easy to do but the outer rubber on the rear windows can be challenging!
