New guy here.
My dad had various sports cars, including his favorite - Porsche- when I was a kid. Fond memories of rides in that car.
I bought my '74 Targa in '98 or so. Had the top end rebuild, trans gone through and drove it for a few years while I lived in CA. It needed suspension parts, so never ventured out onto the track with it. It got parked it for about 7 years after moving to Oregon while I worked on our 100 year old house. Finally a friend offered use of his lift and I dropped all the suspension out of the front and replaced all the bushings, bearings and had the Bilstein shocks re-built.
The next summer I went through the rear suspension and upgraded to SC trailing arms, drop links and new CV's :
The body is solid (California Car) but pretty rough. Interior needs work, but the mechanicals are solid.
I do as much of the work as I can, which is nearly all. Being in the trades (custom furniture) and having a shop and tools helps. Plus I've worked on cars and motorcycles all my life, so I'm pretty familiar with the way things are built.
Sorry, photo links from Flikr and Dropbox not working. I'll have another go at photos tomorrow.
If you have a minute you can see my work at http://www.charlesfreeborn.com or http://www.freebornguitars.com
Cheers!
